Richardsons – ‘Established since 1965, Richardsons has grown into one of the UK’s leading construction companies. As we have developed so has the range of services we offer – from complete project management and design to the construction and refurbishment of both large scale commercial andindustrial commissions to smaller scale private projects.’ Richardsons have provided us with financial support.
Believe Consulting Sport Psychology – ‘is a unique and effective style of Humanistic Sport Psychology approaches that have a proven history of achieving our mission with flourishing and professional sports people and teams. Amanda Owens has over 12 years of applied experience; utilising effective sport psychology techniques in both sporting and business environments.’ Amanda is providing us with the much needed help and advice for our psychological preparation in the build up to the event.
Bronze
British Waterbed Company – ‘manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of waterbeds, vinyl waterbed mattresses and waterbed accessories’. They have sponsored us with custom designed air mattresses which should minimise us rolling about in high seas and ensure we get some decent sleep.
Oxford Brookes is Tom’s university – ‘We are an international university with a local focus. Our teaching standards are second to none, and we care passionately about our environment and community. Having the enthusiasm of a modern university, we are always seeking new challenges, opportunities and partners.’ They have provided us with financial backing.
Ballards Brewery – ‘produces 1,500 gallons of beer each week using malted barley milled on the premises, English hops, yeast and water. No sugars, colourings or additives are used except isinglass finings which settle the yeast sediment after brewing. The first pint of Ballard’s was brewed in 1980 in the old cow house on our Sussex farm. The brewery is managed by Carola Brown and in 1988 the brewery moved to its new premises at the old sawmill in Nyewood’. Ballards has produced a beer label dedicated to our row.
Eco Electricians - ‘do what electricians do at home or at work, but also will offer you where at all possible a lower energy alternative’. They have provided us with financial backing.
Boats 4 Fun – ‘Based near Eastbourne, East Sussex, Boats4fun is a family run business offering Fishing boats, Pleasure boats, Dinghies, Kayaks, Canadian Canoes, Outboards, Boat Trailers & Chandlery for sale.’ They have built a boat to sell, for which the profits have been allocated to our project.
Pedros Yacht Refinishing – ‘Specialists in the repair and restoration of all types of craft.’ Pedros have resprayed our boat for us in Heritage Oil’s colours and applied antifoul.
King’s School – ‘founded in 1519, is a co-educational boarding and day school situated in the small Somerset town of Bruton for pupils between 13 – 18′. This is the school that we attended and they have provided us with financial support.
Funky Monkey - ’The country’s leading supplier of boat names and vinyl lettering, boat graphics, vinyl striping tape and ssr numbers for yachts, ribs, motor cruisers, powerboats, sailing dinghies, canal boats and canalia.’ Funky Monkey have made up the vinyls for our boat.
Human Performance Centre – ‘The Human Performance Centre (HPC) provides sport science support and services to elite athletes, corporate clients and members of the public. Our support services include biomechanics, strength and conditioning, physiology, sports psychology and nutrition.’ The Human Performance Center at LSBU (Pat Fox – Head of Sport) has put together diets plans and training programmes for us in the lead up to the event.
The Dorset Flapjack Company – ‘is a family run business near Lulworth in the heart of Dorset. Dorset Flapjacks has a great deal of pride and commitment, with a history of Baking and forward thinking philosophy. Dorset is a place of beauty and delight, and we believe our flapjacks compliment it perfectly. Each bar is a small taste of this beautiful southern county and with many different flavours to choose from you’re sure to be delighted.’ The Dorset Flapjack Company has provided us with both flapjacks, to help keep us energized throughout the row, and financial support.
